An Appeal

Ok, I know this is a longshot, but since MDID has had so many different live configurations, I've been wanting for awhile to put together a "best of" MDID live CD with a few videos of performances over the years as well. However, I just don't have that much material. Most of the time, live off the board tapes just don't sound that great, or the videos are too grainy etc... So , what I'm wondering is, what is the chance that any of you out there might have some "bootleg" tapes or videos of the band? I know of at least a few concerts we did in Europe that were videotaped, and for which I never got copies.. I'm 95% certain those are long lost, but every once in awhile I have one of those wacky dreams that someone sends me a tape of a great old live performance. So on the 5% chance, if there's anyone out there with tapes or footage, email me. I will compensate with cash if I end up using it.

Psykick Dancehall Reborn

For about 8 years in the 80's I did a radio show on WCSB-FM in Cleveland called the Psykick Dancehall after the Fall song. I found out yesterday that my application to a new low power community FM station here in Carrboro, NC (103.5 FM) has been accepted and the Dancehall will be open for "business" again on Monday nights from 10-12 beginning sometime in October or November. The listening radius is small but it will cover all of Carrboro and most of Chapel Hill. There won't unfortunately be any online streaming for the time being due to FCC internet streaming restrictions on low power FM stations, at least according to the station management. I'll have to look into this.

The knights who say knee

Been out of the loop for awhile after knee surgery to repair torn cartilage on Sept 1. Was practicing doing those backflips I am famous for during guitar solos when.... All went fairly well I guess, but am returning to the dr next Tues for follow up. Supposedly he made a video of the procedure, which involved the insertion of several space aged instruments into my knee, twisting them around awhile, wrapping the whole thing up in an ace bandage and sexy white stocking, then allowing me to puke for hours afterwards recovering from anesthesia. My wife Jeanne got the enviable task of proving her love to me (again) by emptying out bowls of stuff that would have made Linda Blair wince.

The nurse at the checkout desk refused to release the video to us, she must have known of my indie rock fame and it is probably being offered now on E-bay as we speak.

Anyway, that was 10 days ago now and I am getting around the house about as well as a 65 yr old should. Still a ways to go, but each day seems a little better.

Will get back to label hunting for A Divided House in the coming weeks. I've received my first official "don't call us we'll call you" communique from a label that will remain unnamed.

For those rabid fans (I can count my fans on the fingers of one hand....) who just can't wait, Email me with an offer I can't refuse.
